Alphabetical Order

Today at work I sold a ticket to Jennifer Kydd, she's the blond girl off of that Canadian show "Falcon Beach". I probably wouldn't have recognized her but I watched an episode a few days ago. I like that show. Anyway, this is just a little post. I wanted to bring to everyones attention that Corbin now has a blog!!! I went to school with Corbin, he played the trumpet, I played the flute and now he goes to the same church as the Courtney's. His link is on my side bar. Speaking of my side bar, I'd also like to bring to your attention that I organized my links in alphabetical order. I did this because I didn't want people thinking it was some kind of ranking system. Yep. Tomorrow, which is actually today, I'm going to see "Pans Labyrinth" with Michael. I've heard so many amazing things about that movie, I think it's about time I saw it.

Work

I now officially have another job!!! Now I'm just waiting until they phone me to come in. I'm a little nervous to be a waitress. As most of you know... I'm a klutz. I hope I don't drop a plate on a customer, it makes me more nervous that these are all important rich people that I'll be serving. Today I went out and bought dress shoes with a little bow on them, panty hose, hoop earrings, and pink nail polish. I'm feeling a little bit more girly lately, I think it's because I hardly hang out with girls anymore so I think I'm trying to make up for it.

I'm no longer doing that editing job. Due to a series of events which I won't get into, Anita has told the director she no longer wants to do it. I would take on the project myself but now I have this new job and there's no way I could edit alone with two other jobs. People keep asking me why I want to work two jobs and not do a film internship. For a few weeks I was pretty close to moving back to Terrace because I was running out of money. I would love to have an internship but in order to do that I have to live in Toronto, and if I want to stay in Toronto I need money, hence the second job. I hope an internship is in the near future.

I saw a few movies lately and I thought I'd give my opinion on them. "The Number 23", this movie was ok I guess. Jim Carey was good, but the story happened too quickly, and it was a little corny in some parts. I would wait to rent it. I also saw "Music and Lyrics". This movie was worse than I expected it to be, it's one of those forgettable movies. If you are really really into chick flicks or Hugh Grant then you might enjoy this movie, me not so much. Then I saw "Bridge to Tarabithia". I really liked this movie. I did read the book way back in grade 3 or whenever it was but I couldn't remember it. Warning!!: This movie has an incredibly sad ending. Even if you know the ending is coming, I guarantee you'll cry (even all you guys!!!). This movie is not recommended for Leah.

So the Acedemy Awards last night... I think I got 9 out of 24 right. The Acedemy suprises me every year. It seems they are choosing more popular films, I always was under the impression that the wierder the movie the more likely it was to win. And Little Miss Sunshine got two oscars!!! Love that movie.

It's About Time

Congratulations to Ryan and Leah on their engagement!!!!!!! I'm very happy for you both and happy to have Leah as my new sister!!! See you all at the wedding. :)

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

The Oscars are only a few hours away!!! I went out and bought mint chocolate chip ice cream and mini chocolate cupcakes. Man, getting groceries is a major work out. I first went to Walmart, and to get there I have to walk about 15 minutes and ride the subway for about 15 minutes. Then I went to the grocery store near my house and then walked home, which is also about a 15 minute walk. I always end up buying too much and I struggle to carry all the bags home. Oh well, I need some arm muscles anyway.

Lately I've been pretty busy. I'm trying to work as much as I can. I've been meeting with Anita and we're preparing for that editing job. We're meeting with the director in a few days, so I think it's a go, but I'm still not sure what kind of money we're going to get. Also some good news (I think), Luiza, a girl I work with got me a job at The National Club as a waitress!!!! I havn't been there yet but I think The National Club is kind of like a country club type place where rich people go to eat and socialize. I have to where a skirt!!!! It pays $11.50 and hour for the first 3 months (plus tips), which is really good considering minimum wage just went to $8.00 here. I have my orientation tomorrow, so Luiza says. This seems a little too easy, I didn't even give them my resume or go in for an interview so I guess I'll know 100% if I got the job tomorrow. I hope so!!! I wanted to post some pictures of the place but it wasn't really working, but here's their website where it shows some pictures. http://www.thenationalclub.com/

A few days ago I went to the Ontario Science Centre with Michael from work. It was pretty amazing there. I can't go in to detail about all the stuff that was there because it would take me a few days, but definetly a cool place. Here's some pictures.

P.S. If you havn't watched that Conan episode in my previous post, I recomend you do. It's very funny!

Movies and Nintendo

I think it's about time I posted again. So over the last few days two little, mabey huge opportunities presented themselves. The first one was a small group of people from work who are planning to make an independent horror movie asked me to join them. Since none of them have been to film school, I tried to explain the reality of getting this thing made and that it's a lot of business and paperwork. I don't think they liked me very much after, lol. Anyways the other opportunity is still in question. My friend Anita was called and asked by a director to edit his FEATURE FILM. Of course she said yes but being such a great friend she asked him if her and I could co-edit it together!! We're still waiting to hear his answer, but if he does say yes this could be a major step in my career.

Last night I went over to Andrew's place and we played the old Nintendo util 7:30 a.m. this morning. I didn't even noticed the time go by so quickly. If we had Mario 3, I would probably still be there. Nintendo's the best!

V Day

On Valentine's Day every year I have a traditon of watching Titanic and eating food until I feel sick. This is year 4 of my tradition. I ate like 3 chocolate bars, a bag of chips, skittels, and hot chocolate with cookie waffer things. What do they call that in Australia? Timtams? Well they weren't the same cookies but they were close. And I had Mc Donalds :( I'm a bad girl. I made it 13 days without eating it and then I failed. I'll have to start over. I tell people to slap me if they see me eating it but no one was around, no one would find me. I sound like a drug addict.

Charlie The Unicorn

Stupid, yet funny.

Toronto

Before I finished that job for the evil doctor I put some of the footage on to my computer and put this little thing together. I already posted a tiny bit of it a few months ago but here's a longer version. This had to be one of the most amazing days of my life, Toronto looked so beautiful.

A Bunch of Stuff

I've been seeing a lot of movies lately. When I'm not working I'm usually out giving resumes and I reward myself by seeing a movie after. Seeing movies by myself is awsome. At first I felt like an idiot but now I prefer it. I guess it's a little different in Terrace since there's only one theater and two showtimes, but in the city you never see anyone you know.
So I still don't have a job. I'm so frustrated! I blame it on my big ugly coat. No one wants to hire a girl who has a big ugly coat. Tim Hortons has "Help Wanted" signs up everywhere but I'm seriously trying to stay away from that place.
I miss school. I still am taking a workshop but that's only for 3 hours a week. My school is changing its location. It's moving into a different building across the street. You don't even have to go outside from the subway station to get to it. This always happends, whenever I'm done school they start to make improvments. Oh well.
Did anyone watch the O.C. last night? I'm so sad that there are only 2 episodes left. I wanted to watch survivor but it wasn't on at midnight when I got home. Hopefully I can watch it on peekvid if the stupid website starts working again. I'm thinking about booking off Feb. 25th from work. Sadly it's because I want to watch the Oscars. I'm going to post my predictions in a few days. RIP Anna Nicole Smith.

Here's Part two of my post.
I'm very curious how Jenna's doing. Is her baby almost here? Someone update me.
So Ryan's back for Caleeeeefornia. Yep. I'm missing the Terrace scenery a little bit. That picture isn't a good example.Tamara and Leah!

Goals

I finally completed that Doctors project I was working on. I went to the hospital this morning and dropped it off to one of his interns. I was too afraid to face him and demand my money. I don't think he'll pay me because he's one of the most selfish person I've ever met. I'm sure I'll meet many more just like him if I stay in this field of work.
Anyway, today is the day I start trying to loose weight. Since I'm going to be a bridesmaid in two weddings this summer I'm thinking I better start early since I've never been able to really loose weight. I'm starting by avoiding McDonalds, quiting McDonalds is like quiting smoking. I have a lot of hard work ahead of me.
Update on my job search. I havn't really tried that hard, but now that I got that Doctors thing out of the way I feel I have more time now to concentrate. I dropped off a few resumes at different restaurants but in this city restaurants only hire Asians it seems. White girls work in bars. Over the next few days I'm going out to explore the city and hand out 1000 resumes. As for editing, I'm going to try and get an internship soon, but money comes first if I want to stay here.
Today I got employee of the month, yahhhhhhh. I don't think I get anything special, just my name posted for all to see. Anyways, Happy Birthday Krystal Wanegaret (sp), wherever you are in the world.
