Public Washroom

I just had my gum surgery. It was mildly painful, I think the worst part is yet to come. They removed part of my gums above my back tooth so that a crown can fit on properly. I have a cast like thing over it for a week. They gave me pain killers, antibiotics, an ice pack and some apple sauce.
Arriving home today I noticed a huge board blocking the bathroom door, not knowing why it was there I thought I would hold my pee for a while. When I couldn't wait any longer I climbed over the board into the bathroom only to discover a broken toilet! What the heck. Where am I supposed to pee this weekend? Where are my room mates going to pee? My plan tonight (post surgery) was to stay home alone, watch movies until my head hurt, drink water from a straw and to think about how amazing it is that today is mine and Josh's anniversary (1 year, 5 months). Now my plans are changing, I'm thinking of going out to use a public washroom and not to come home until I'm sure I don't need the washroom again until the next day. Today can't get any worse.

Considering

Kevin C asked me to post on my top 10 favorite movies. I've been trying and it's way too hard to narrow it down. I forget who, but someone got so annoyed with me for this same reason. Whenever a movie I really liked came up in conversation I would be like "That movie is so great... blah, blah, blah... it's one of my top ten". It made them mad when I would say this because I said it about every great movie, way more than 10. Maybe I'll post my top 20 in no particular order. Basically this is just a post to let Kevin know I'm considering his suggestion.

Movie Review

My Movie Reviews

Stone of Destiny

My Review: 7.5/10
IMDB Review: 7.9/10

This is a movie about a group of University students in Scotland who plan to go to London and steal back their Country's historic "Stone of Destiny". They think by doing this it might bring back their country's pride. I thought it was pretty good. It was actually quite funny and the cool part was that it was filmed in Vancouver! I'd watch it again but I don't think I would buy it.

Watchmen

My Review: 7/10
IMDB Review: 8.1/10

I never found this movie boring but I don't think I want to see it again. Not because it's a three hour movie but because of.... I always hate saying this because I sound like such a little girl, the graphic violence. If your ok with the violence and you like comic book movies than you'll enjoy it more than I did.

One Week

My Review: 7/10
IMDB Review: 7.2/10

I liked this movie for three reasons and none of them were for it's script. One, I think Joshua Jackson is a good actor. Two, The filming style was unique. There was a lot of jump cuts etc. And three, the way it showcased Canada. The scenes of him driving down a Saskatchewan highway and hiking in Banff. I guess it was familiar. The soundtrack was all Canadian artists and the movie was basically a giant add for the beer Steam Whistle.

Coraline

My Rating: 8/10
IMDB Rating: 8.2/10

I enjoyed it, it was very artsy and creative. It's not really a kids movie, it would probably give a kid nightmares. On second thought maybe kids should see it because it gives a good message. I want to see it again.

Venezuela

An Update...
I wasn't planning on moving out any time soon but a friend of mines girlfriend was looking for a room mate. I thought about it. It was a house with 3 rooms shared with the girl and her mom, my room would be double the size it is now, it would only be a 5 minute walk to a subway station and it would only be $50 more than what I'm paying now. The only downside is the neighbourhood is a little scary. I really didn't know what to do so I decided I would just take a look at the place and decide from there. The day I was going to see the place she called to tell me her landlord sold the house without telling them and they had to move out by the end of the month. So I'll remain here for now.

So Josh and I are seeing Death Cab for a Cutie in April and Kings of Leon. I've been a fan of Kings of Leon for a few years but not really of their recent stuff. This morning Josh told me that there was someone on Craig's List that was willing to pay $200 for 2 tickets to that very concert. We only payed $50 a ticket so I said "why not". The person might not even want our tickets but in this case money seems better then Kings of Leon.

I went to the World Baseball Classic the other night with Josh and Jeff. I didn't even know what it was. Anyway we watched the U.S. play Venezuela. Venezuela won and we waved Venezuelan flags. A fight almost broke out in front of us, that's what happens when you put drunk Americans in the same vicinity for 3+ hours. I've been to like a dozen games now and so far I've never been on the jumbo tron and I've never caught/touched a ball. My day will come!

Business at work is going down hilllll. so far 35 people have resigned as members. Events keep getting cancelled and next week there is no work for anybody but the few full time staff. Thank God I'm full time. Even some of the full time staff are taking next week off. The room I work in at lunch seats about 50 people, we usually only see about 15 people during the two hours that we're open. We worry our room might be closed down soon and they'll just use the other rooms instead.

Ryan, Leah, Ruth, Mark and possibly Mike and Moe will be in Toronto in May!!!!!!! I'm very excited. I love showing people around the city and it's rare to have visitors from BC come all the way out here. I already have tons of ideas of stuff I want to do with Ryan and Leah since they're going to stay an extra week. Tamara you should come too!

I hate this! Kevin C should move back to Toronto. I miss our adventures and eating Burger King all the time with him. He's the only one who will go with me to Toronto Island no matter what the weather's like. It looks like he's having fun in the Philippines though, even if he won't admit it. Come home young man!
